In alignment with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India into the ‘Skill Capital of the World,’ the Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) remains steadfast in its mission to empower the workforce through focused upskilling, reskilling and employment-oriented training.

The apparel, made-ups and home furnishing sector is not only a vital contributor to India’s economic growth but also a vibrant reflection of its rich cultural legacy. Recognizing the dynamic needs of the industry, AMHSSC has built a robust ecosystem of over 11,800 training centres across the country. These centres are instrumental in preparing a future-ready workforce equipped with industry- relevant skills.

Since its inception, AMHSSC has successfully trained over 33 lakh candidates- remarkably, 60% of whom are women-marking a significant stride towards gender-inclusive skilling. To ensure quality delivery and capacity building, the Council has also conducted more than 3,400 Training of Trainers (ToTs), further strengthening the skill development infrastructure.

Our strategic approach is centered on delivering high-quality, industry- aligned training programs, promoting certification standards and encouraging sustainable skill development models. We actively collaborate with industry stakeholders, leverage CSR partnerships and promote entrepreneurial initiatives to foster inclusive growth and generate meaningful livelihood opportunities.

By bridging the skill gap and nurturing a competent talent pool, we are committed to strengthening India’s position as a global hub for skilled manpower. As Chairman, I reaffirm my dedication to advancing this mission and ensuring that our skilling efforts lead to long-term, tangible outcomes for both the industry and the nation.
